It was a silent moment  
of sudden trust  
when her eyes met mine.

I dived into the clear blue  
waters of innocence  
and pain.

Her brokenness was stunning.  
All her beauty revealed  
with sensual dignity.

Her eyes reflected all the  
heavy matters of life.  
Her smile was mysterious.

I was drawn to her being.  
I was touched by her soul.  
A short moment of wonder.

And then, I recognised myself.
